With spring in full swing things have been very busy, exciting and fun here at Cotton Run Farm. We have meat chickens out on the pasture. We also have had several bee swarms that a local bee farmer has caught. We have plowed up some ground to plant sweet corn to sell in the farm store. We continue to work on putting out a garden with a varied of vegetables.

We are stilling planning on doing Thanksgiving turkeys! We would like to have lamb if there is enough interest in it. Cotton Run Farm would like to have a varied of meats for all different tastes!

Here at Cotton Run Farm we love meeting new people and learning what we can do to provide the natural food they seek!

If you have any questions about the items we carry in the farm store or about shares in the dairy herd please feel free to contact us by phone 765-745-1221, by email lutherlinville2@gmail.com or by facebook Cotton Run Farm.

It has been an interesting journey up to this point. With the cows here and milking underway the days have been long but worth every minute!

This is the fulfillment of a dream along time in the making. Our lives ( and I’m sure many others) have been full of ups and downs, mountains, and valleys. God has always proved himself in both! So for now we will enjoy the view from the mountain and keep trusting him to carry us through any valleys that the future may bring!!

Almost Time!!

The time is getting closer for Cotton Run Farm to be up and running it’s grassfed milk share program and it’s on farm store! We are looking forward to meeting all of our cow share owners and customers. Cotton Run Farm is a place where people can feel at home and sit back and take in the beautiful land that God has given us.

Starting in mid to late spring we will also be offering a field trip experience for schools who are interested. This is a great chance for the children to learn about what we do at Cotton Run Farm, to help milk the cows and to pet the wonderful Dutch Belted. Hopefully they will also get to see some calves and maybe help feed them!

If you have any questions or need more information please contact us at 765-745-1221 or email us at lutherlinville2@gmail.com.

As for all who have been following us and taking this adventure with us, you know how excited we are about getting the Dutch Belted from Apple Family Farm.

If this is your first time hearing about us here at Cotton Run Farm please let me take a little time to tell you about ourselves. My name is Luther Linville. I grew up on a dairy farm in Rush County. I married my wife Heather almost 18 years ago. We have six children ages 16 to a set of twin that are 5. My family stopped milking about 20 years ago, it has always been my dream and passion to milk cows. And with the help of Mark and Nora Apple owners of Apple Family Farms and you that dream is soon to be a reality.

We are offering shares in the dairy herd which will provide you with fresh grassfed milk. We will also be offering grassfed beef and several other products. We started building the milk parlor and store at the end of January and it’ll be up and operational in two weeks. If this is something you would be interested in doing or would like more information about please  contact us by phone at 765-745-1221 or by email at lutherlinville2@gmail.com.

Thanks and Blessings

20150215_09470820150215_09473120150215_09473120150215_094656     These past few weeks have been crazy! The milking parlor and store are almost ready and with spring right around the corner we are ready to gear up for a new grazing season. Getting the Dutch Belted cows from Apple Family Farm moved to our place is going to be quite a time. As you know they make a pretty picture out on the pasture.

We wanted to address some concerns about traveling distance. We know long drives can be challenging but we would like to offer some incentive. If you are willing to help coordinate multiple pickups with other share owners we could offer some discounts. If interested please call us at 765-745-1221. We can discuss options.

We give our sincerest thank you to all who have supported us and those who have chosen to take advantage of this great opportunity.

Blessings from the Linvilles at Cotton Run Farm

We are pressing forward! We are continuing to meet with Mark and Nora owners of Apple Family Farm to take advantage of their many years of experience. Please make sure to shoot a word of appreciation their way. They have been invaluable in this process.

We are ready to start cow share sign up, so please contact us as soon as possible to get your share!!!

There have been questions about what will be available in the store. We will have milk for our shareholders, we’ll also have beef and eggs available as soon as we open. As the weeks progress we hope to have honey from a local farmer, veggies grown from our garden and pork meat raised on our farm.

If anyone has any questions please don’t hesitate to contact us at lutherlinville2@gmail.com.

Thank You

Luther and Heather Linville
